July 6 & 7 – Lions Club
The Truckee Host Lions Club has contacted our unit requesting support for their Latitude 39 Concert at the Truckee Rodeo Grounds on July 6th. This is a great opportunity for collaboration and connection, and it will be a fun event!
Saturday, July 6th 3:30-9:00 pm
Take food (taco) orders from the box seat guests and deliver from the kitchen while enjoying great music! We need 2 senior members and 3-4 cadets. All tips will be donated to our squadron.
Sunday, July 7th 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Clean-up crew. Our job will be to help the Lions Club remove trash, move tables and fencing, and return the rodeo grounds to pre-concert condition. The more participation we have, the quicker the job can be done. Ideally, 4-6 senior members/cadets. The Lions Club is willing to donate to our unit for our service.
Parents - here is the permission slip for cadet participation;

July 18 & 19 - PGA Barracuda Championship
Calling all cadets, parents, senior members, and friends – please consider volunteering as a Standard Bearer or Gallery Management for the PGA Barracuda Championship at Old Greenwood in Truckee. If we can fill at least 25 shifts, we will receive a donation of $2,500. Please help us reach out numbers and support our community!
As a standard bearer, you will follow a single group of golfers on Thursday or Friday (or both if interested) from the time they tee off through the end of play. You will carry the “standard” that displays the names of the golfers in the group and their scores.
Not up for walking the course? Gallery Management doesn’t require walking the course. Gallery Management is available Thursday - Sunday. Members of Gallery Management will be located outside of the ropes at tees and greens to assist with managing crowds and crowd noise. Mornings or afternoons are available.
If Thursday and Friday don’t work in your schedule, weekend shifts are now available. Please register using the following link;

Be sure to choose Tahoe-Truckee Civil Air Patrol as your volunteer type.

TRAINING SEMINARS
Unless otherwise noted, these events are posted on the Reno Squadron’s website. The folks in Reno generally want you to sign up so they can arrange the space and plan for lunch. Some classes are broadcast via Microsoft Teams and recordings may be available but it’s better to be there in person if you can.
Mission Scanner and Mission Staff Assistant Training
We plan to hold a Mission Scanner (MS) ground school and a Mission Staff Assistant (MSA) training class at Truckee this summer. If you’re interested in the MS school, please let SM Ellis or Capt Beadle know along with dates you’re available. Cadets and senior members can and should attend the MSA class. MSA is one of the few ES jobs that can be performed by cadets, even for real missions, and we are asking all senior members who wish to obtain an air crew qualification to obtain the MSA and MRO qualifications as well. An MRO class will be announced at a later date.
